°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Êapp Medical and Counseling Services, located in the Dickey Health and Wellness Center directly behind Austin Hall, provides counseling to all full-time undergraduate students and all international graduate students. Domestic graduate students without an active student health insurance policy can be seen based on a fee for service; graduate student health insurance policies can be purchased through the United Healthcare Student Resources website atÌý.

Mental Health Support, After Hours Crisis and Emergency Care

°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Êapp provides a 24/7 confidential student support line that is staffed by licensed professional counselors through a partnership with Christie Campus Health. Students that need in the moment support, after-hours crisis assistance or emergency concerns should contact (833) 755-0484 for immediate support.

Counseling Services is here to serve students through virtual and face-to-face individual sessions, support groups, educational talks, and walk-in appointments.

  • For students wanting to use our counseling services, please call the Health Center at (813) 253-6250 to set up an initial appointment.
  • Support groups are offered on a weekly basis. If you are interested in attending one of our support groups, please emailÌýcounseling@ut.edu. One of the counseling team members will respond with information about your group of interest. If you have a different need for a support group, please emailÌýcounseling@ut.eduÌýand a counseling team member will respond accordingly.

    • Loving and Living With Addicts Group Tuesday 6—7 p.m.

Counseling can assist students in dealing with the challenges that college life brings. It can help develop and strengthen skills to overcome new challenges or ones that have been impacting your life for a while. Counseling Services is a confidential place where students can come to discuss a variety of issues impacting their functioning to ensure academic success. Counseling Services is committed to providing a safe and caring environment where students’ needs are met.

Individual therapy at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Êapp consists of 45-50 minute sessions with a counseling professional. Students may also be seen for medication appointments. A student's treatment plan will be tailored to individual needs and may include medication consultation and prescriptions. Off-campus counseling referrals are available based on student preferences and needs.

CS records are strictly confidential and protected under Florida Statute 394.4615. CS records stay at Counseling Services separate from academic records. Under state confidentiality laws, counseling records are not released without consent of the student/patient. Limits of confidentiality include life-threatening circumstances, child, elderly or mentally challenged abuse, and at times, in the event of a lawsuit. Scheduled appointments are recommended due to the high volume of students requesting counseling. To make an appointment, call ext. 6250 or (813) 253-6250 to schedule an initial appointment with a counselor. After the initial screening, a student will be offered an appointment with a licensed clinician. Students who walk in with a crisis will be seen as soon as possible for an assessment by a member of theÌýCounseling Services staff.

Cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance of your scheduled appointment. There will be a $25 charge for any appointment missed or not canceled. The $25 fee is collected prior to the scheduling of your next appointment.Ìý

Concerned About a °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Êapp Student?

Counseling Services understands there may be times a student becomes concerned about another student. The °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Êapp community is strongly encouraged to identify any students they are concerned about through the Spartan Support Program.
