Entrepreneurial Ecosystems Research Made Possible by the Ewing Marion Kauffman FoundationÌýÌý
In 2016, the Lowth Center began an ambitious longitudinal research program to catalog and examine the Tampa Bay Entrepreneurial Ecosystem. The Tampa Bay MSA, includes the main cities ofÌýTampa, St. Petersburg and Clearwater and is the eighteenth largest metropolitan area in the United States, with an estimated population of over three million. Lead by °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Êapp's Rebecca White, the collaborative research team of five, which included members from Indiana University, American University and the London School of Economics, presented their findings on Nov. 15, 2016 for the initial study which was funded by the Ewing, Marion Kauffman Foundation. Since that time faculty and students from the entrepreneurship center have continued to measure and record the entrepreneurial activity and growth in the region.
