University of Tampa students, faculty and staff will head “Into the Streets” on Saturday, Aug. 31, donating their time to two Tampa Bay organizations.

One group will be at Feeding Tampa Bay, assisting in the warehouse by inspecting the inventory and packaging it for distribution. Another group will be at Tampa Heights Community Gardens, preparing the gardens for the upcoming planting season.

Into the Streets is the University’s first main service event of the academic year. It serves as an introduction to the PEACE Volunteer Center, which hosts volunteering events and trips throughout the school year.

“Into the Streets is such an insightful event for all involved,” said Brittany Garcia, assistant director of service and leadership development. “Engaging with the community around you and leaving an impact while also learning about the resources and ways you can give back is such a great way to start the school year off.” For more information, email peace@ut.edu or call (813) 253-6263.
